Summary

Consequential on the package of 5 bills which rewrites the legislation currently providing for the administration of Australia’s offshore petroleum resources, the bill amends the

Offshore Petroleum (Safety Levies) Act 2003
to: omit references to the
Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1967
and replace them with references to the proposed
Offshore Petroleum Act 2005
; ensure that future amendments or name changes to other Acts or regulations will not have any effect on key definitions in the Act; and make transitional arrangements.
